EARTH SPEAKS
My
oceans
are dying.
My forests are
cut down or burning.
My systems are weakened,
and my glaciers are melting.
So many species are extinct.
How can I convince you to help me?

It cannot be written any plainer…and yet here we are. Thank you for the punch of this poem. It stings but it is deserved and worth it.

Your truthful and powerful poem made me think of Rachel Carson immediately, and her book “Silent Spring” which ought to be required reading— Hard to paint a pretty picture out of it… thanks Mary Lee!

Wishing there was a “clean” answer. You’re clear that it remains for all of us to step in. It feels as if it must touch people in personal ways. Thanks, Mary Lee.
