  1. I got off balance a few weeks ago, literally, with plantar fasciitis. It’s better now, and I am walking my route again. The ritual of walking feels like this poem, steady and paced.

  2. Balance! It’s a theme lately. At a recent physical, the doctor asked if I could stand on one foot. “Yes!,” I answered, but later she had me demonstrate. Okaay. I resisted asking if this is the kind of thing people lie about, but I wondered. Love the poem, Mary Lee!

  3. Mary Lee, without balance where would be? Your poem’s open line is so true. I am still in PT trying to get my strength back without falls. The last two lines share the positivities that are a must. Happy Holidays!

  4. The perfect image for your poem, Mary Lee! “Balance” is a great reminder, especially this time of year. Thank you!

  5. We breathe, we believe, we balance… I’ve been listening to an audio course by John O’Donohue. He recasts “balance” in a way I can’t quite articulate yet but in a way that really resonates with me… I need to re-listen (and what 30 hours of joy that will be!) Thank you for your beautiful poem. xo

  6. Oh, my goodness…this is a poem for me to memorize and repeat when I begin my yoga routine. I love it. I love how it begins with process but ends with the action of believe. Brilliant. This one’s a keeper.
