Poetry Friday: Intelligence

Reading back in my notebook, I found this draft I wrote after the Poetry Sisters’ discussion of wabi-sabi. I was thinking about human intelligence vs. artificial intelligence, and I doodled around on RhymeZone looking at rhymes, near-rhymes, definitions, and synonyms. I rather like it that there is no rhyme for intelligence. Ranks it right up there with orange.

Robyn is popping back in from her summer blogging break to host the Poetry Friday roundup this week at Life on the Deckle Edge.

  1. No rhyme but WOW — look at the words that surely go together: intelligence, femaleness, excellence, eloquence! Must be describing someone we all know? Love this discovery!

  2. Your poem surely looks like you had fun with wordplay, Mary Lee. I enjoyed your interesting words but femaleness struck my fancy. Eloquence is a beautiful word for those who love oration. Rhyme Zone is one of favorite spots for word play.

  3. Maybe there is no rhyme, but I really like the “cousins” that you added, Mary Lee! Good thoughts needed for this time!

  4. Mary Lee, what a fun poem, and I love the words you discovered that sound a bit like intelligence. It is appropriate that there is nothing that rhymes with intelligence, certainly not the artificial kind.

  5. No rhyme, unmatched. AI can never replace femaleness, excellence, eloquence, and procedures. We are human, hear us roar. 🙂
