Now that Valentine’s Day has passed, you thought there would be no more gifts in your future until your birthday…but you are wrong!
The folks at Candlewick contacted me with an amazing gift/opportunity for YOU: “We have a lot of poetry coming this year (and already out) and I’d love to offer interested bloggers books to post about and possibly some author engagement.”
Sound like something you’d be interested in?
Here is Candlewick’s Edelweiss Poetry Collection. If you’d like to review a book that’s not yet published, you can request it on Edelweiss.
If you’d like to request a review copy of a book that’s already published, let me know in the comments and I’ll share your contact information with Candlewick.
AND, if you’d like to connect with a Candlewick poet for a guest post or interview, here are some authors who would be interested in doing a post or chat: Allan Wolf, Betsy Franco, Carole Boston Weatherford, Carrie Fountain, David Elliott, Helen Frost, and Sally M. Walker. If you are interested in working with one of these authors, leave a note in the comments and I’ll share your contact information with Candlewick.
Thank you, Candlewick, for this gift of poetry!
Laura Purdie Salas has this week’s Poetry Friday Roundup at her blog Small Reads for Brighter Days.
Hi Margaret, thanks for this bevy of poetry opportunities, I’d love to connect with David Elliot, I’m fond of his writing!

Mary Lee, Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. I’d love to participate. I’d like to do a post and/or chat with Allan Wolf. We are friends from a time when in person workshops were a thing and he came to our area. I’d love to reconnect with him. I believe you have my contact info. Thanks again!

Thanks for this treasure chest of poetry opportunities, Mary Lee! I usually get review books from Candlewick for the Keystone to Reading awards, but I will definitely check out their upcoming poetry books on Eidelweiss.

My apologies Mary Lee in my stupor of waking, preparing to leave for teaching, and commenting on a few posts I thought I was at Margaret’s site. Thanks again for these opportunities!

If I could be helpful in promoting these titles, I would be happy to. Any of them would be fine. Thanks for the opportunity. It would be best if I could review a book/author May or beyond. Thank you, Mary Lee.

Mary Lee, I am very interested in showcasing books for pre-school children because my 4-year-old granddaughter and I love to read the latest books and talk about them. Thank you for sharing the news. Let me know what else I need to do to accept this offer. I am having cataract surgery mid-March and mid-April so after those dates would be a good time for me.

Thanks, Mary Lee! I signed up to preview/review a couple of upcoming publications that are poetry and/or have an interest for me due to my background in school gardens. I hope I’m accepted. You are very generous to share!

Oh sobs. I won’t put my name down, because this review copy opportunity won’t apply overseas (I know all about books in the mail. And I also know that at the moment, USPS isn’t even posting to Australia.) but I’d love it. Thank-you for sharing, Mary Lee.

I was out of town but I would love to interview a poet for Poetry Friday in April. I did interview Alan Wolf last year.
